WELCOME TO LITUYA BAY BEFORE JULY 7, 1958 AND AFTER

In another life time I was supposed to be in Lituya Bay setting up camp on July 7, 1958. Ken Logan, bush pilot out of Juneau, tried three times during the day to fly me into Lituya Bay. Events kept occurring which kept us from leaving town so at 5:00 PM we decided I would fly out the next morning. I was in the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau when the earthquake occurred. The fault line was slightly east of the head end of the bay. Somehow the highest wave in history was generated. Twenty years later researchers figured it out and titled the process and the wave "Mega-Tsunami".
